Veterinary Diagnostics in Houston, TX
State-of-the-Art Diagnostic Technology
When your pet is sick, they can’t speak to tell us what’s wrong. At Clear Lake City Veterinary Clinic, we take the guessing games out of diagnosing your pet. We use the latest technology to help us quickly and accurately understand your pet’s health needs. Your pet will be back on their way to a happy, healthy life in no time.
Diagnostic testing isn’t strictly for sick animals. Our Houston veterinarians use diagnostic testing in conjunction with your pet’s regular checkups. These tests can tell us a lot about your pet’s overall health. With our in-house laboratory, we can map out what is “normal” for your pet. This baseline helps us identify changes in your pet’s health and is key to our preventative approach to veterinary medicine. We’ll be better equipped to give your pet the treatment they need as soon as possible.
If it’s been awhile since your pet last visited the vet, call (281) 488-0789 to book a checkup today.
Diagnostics at Clear Lake City Veterinary Clinic
As an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited hospital, Clear Lake City Veterinary Clinic is proud to offer the best, state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to benefit your pets. These tools are an important part of our preventative approach to your pet’s health.
Our in-house laboratory can handle a broad range of tests, including:
- Blood chemistry
- Electrolyte testing
- Complete blood count (CBC)
- Fecal checks
In addition to our laboratory services, Clear Lake City Veterinary Clinic also offers on-site digital radiology. This allows us to see images of your pet’s bones and organs, which is useful if we suspect breaks, fractures, or that your pet swallowed foreign object. Radiology is non-invasive and pain-free.
Because we use digital technology instead of film, your pet’s radiological imaging will be available within minutes. This speed is essential in treating traumatic injuries but is also helpful when treating more minor conditions. The faster we can identify what is wrong with your pet, the faster we’ll be able to get them back on the road to good health.
What can radiological imaging show?
- Broken bones
- Traumatic injuries
- Cardiovascular system
- Lumps or masses
- Foreign objects
Depending on what our Houston veterinarians are looking for, we’ll recommend different types of radiology, such as x-rays or ultrasounds. X-rays are beneficial for hard, dense objects, like bones, while ultrasounds are helpful for inspecting soft tissue, like organs. Both versions of radiological imagine are pain-free.
